American Mechanical Inc. is a Fairbanks-based, native-owned, general contracting firm, providing industrial/commercial solutions throughout the State of Alaska, including many federal, state and local government installations over the past 30 years.  Its major trade emphases are general contracting, mechanical contracting, and general building facilities maintenance and repair.

American Mechanical owns 14 acres and over 20,000 square feet of office and shop space in Fairbanks.  Utilizing computerized technical and logistical support systems, the company networks efficiently between its main corporate headquarters in Fairbanks and its numerous job-sites.

A leader in providing multi-discipline construction services, American Mechanical assembles and manages teams of engineers, architects, urban planners, financial experts, subcontractors, and specialty service providers.  These teams plan and implement innovative and cost-effective solutions for a variety of engineering and project management challenges.  Combining far-sighted project strategy with creative technical solutions, American Mechanical provides value-added programs for clients throughout Alaska.

History

American Mechanical Inc. was started in 1982 by Dennis L. Michel, founder, sole owner, and president.  American Mechanical's beginnings were concentrated in the mechanical field, (plumbing, pipefitting, and welding).  As it matured, it expanded to include general contracting, design-build, and general building/facilities maintenance and repair.  It was an expansion that paid off.  Today the company offers commercial and industrial solutions throughout the State of Alaska.
